Have you wanted to cut calories but are worried about feeling hungry all the time? I have been there, trust me it does sound daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. First lets take a look at how many calories you should be consuming daily. To find this number you will need to find a TDEE ( Total Daily Energy Expenditure) calculator online I recommend this one, Click here. Plug in all your information and it will show you your Maintenance calories. This means if you lay in bed all day your body burns x amount of calories. Theoretically if you eat above your maintenance calories you will gain weight, this is called “bulking”. Opposite of that you have “Cutting”, this is where you go for losing weight. Now you are probably here to find out about how to cut calories am I right? Now that we have a general understanding let’s get into it.

We don’t have to starve while maintaining a calorie deficient. I suggest being prepared in the beginning, with meal planning. This helps when you want to grab and go! Spread your meals and snacks out throughout the day.
I like to eat every two hours this makes it simple to stay on track and know when to eat, also I am never hungry because I’m always eating! The only thing I find tricky is just staying in your set amount of calories. This is a little difficult at first, but through time and planning it gets easier. Low calorie foods/snacks/replacements made life a lot better!

Low calorie ice cream has been a lifesaver especially on days when aunt flow is in town! This is when I crave the most junk out of nowhere and any bag of chips or chocolate is in serious trouble. There are endless options at the store. Thankfully in this time and age its more mainstream to find low cal ice cream and snacks. Now not all are created equally and should be consumed in moderation.
Check your labels and don’t go OVERBOARD on them! I know its easy! Focus on nutrition and let the treats be just that a treat, not all day, maybe one a day and slowly progress to one a week. The key is to not be dependent of the treat to get you through to the next day or meal.

Some people state if they stay in their caloric deficit they can eat essentially anything. I try no to do this simply because I know myself, I can not just eat a few chips and stop. But the beauty of it is there is a sense of flexibility. I go the nutrition route, foods high in nutrition not just empty calories. I want to fuel my body with good quality ingredients, So i can feel my best.
I hope this blog has helped you find some tips for calorie counting! Find your own method and stick to it!
